First Saturdays at the Fox!

I’m excited to announce that starting in 2014 I’ll be hosting a no-cover jazz combo every First Saturday at the Black Fox Lounge (1723 Conn Ave NW) from 9:30pm until 12:30am.

The WED Jazz Trio includes Dave Kane on keys, Ed Hrybyk on bass, and me on drums — and we will be joined by a different special guest artist each month.

In January, we were joined by saxophonist Tedd Baker, and coming up this Saturday, February 1st, we will be joined by vocalist Lena Seikaly.

Thereafter, we have an outstanding line-up of special guests:

Saturday 2/1/14: Special guest Lena Seikaly joins us at Black Fox Lounge!

Lena_SeikalyPlease come out to the Black Fox Lounge for “First Saturday” in February (the 1st) as vocalist Lena Seikaly joins the band for a special night of warm, swinging jazz.  Lena is one of the top jazz talents in the area, having been named as Best Vocalist, Best Album, and Best Composer by the Washington CityPaper “Jazzies,” among many other accolades.

Rounding out the band are excellent musicians Dave Kane on keys and Ed Hrybyk on bass.

This Saturday 1/4/14: Combination birthday party & jazz show with Tedd Baker

TeddBaker3 This Saturday night, ring in the new year, come in from the cold, and celebrate my 38th birthday by joining the WED Jazz Trio and special guest Tedd Baker for a night of hot jazz downstairs at the Black Fox Lounge (1723 Conn Ave NW).

You may have seen Tedd play his own combos around town or as saxophonist in the renowned U.S. Air Force “Airmen of Note” big band.  And the WED Jazz Trio is Dave Kane (piano), Ed Hrybyk (bass), and me, Will Stephens (drums).

No cover!  Birthday party begins at 8:30pm.  Music begins at 9:30pm and goes until 12:30am.
